He made one bad decision back then. The appointment of Rose Bird to the court. I was pretty young when he was Gov. but I did read the L.A. times and didn't remember Moonbeam being such a bad thing for California.
I remember having to cover my koi pond in Anaheim because of spraying during Pete Wilson's term.
After Ronald Regan got rid of free college in the state, Brown was seen by some as a godsend. The website http://www.californiagovernors.ca.gov/h/biography/governor_34.html Says this about Jerry Brown. Brown was a leader in energy efficiency, sponsored and signed the first labor laws in the U.S. to protect farmworkers, and began the California Conservation Corps. His appointments emphasized minorities and women, echoing the social awareness of his era.
In contrast, Ronald Regan removed the solar pannels from the White House put there by Jimmy Carter.
Yes Tom, that was Reagan's first act as Pres. I like the German plan, they buy up all the new American made photovoltaic roofing and put it on homes for free. The houses provide electricity to the grid and it pays for the roof and the cost of the panels. Brilliant. Why can't we?

If he could have just worked it out with Linda Ronstadt, he'd have made it to the White House.
